Overview,
Ghorepani Trek is one of the easier trekking routes in the Annapurna region. The trail takes you through beautiful Modi khola valley up to Poon-hill, at the foothill of the Annapurna massif. Poon Hill is a viewpoint to see the Annapurna peaks including Machhapuchchhre (Mt. Fishtail), Mt. Dhaulagiri to the north and the transcendental valley to the south. The region is dominated by the Gurungs and Magars, both are ethnic groups of Nepal. While descending on the way back to Pokhara, we pass through the paved courtyards of Ghandruk village, another popular traditional village of Gurungs and there we can experience their age old tradition and culture and interact with the local people.
Itinerary,
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu; transfer to the Hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley, Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Drive/fly to Pokhara, O/N at lodge
Day 04: Drive to Nayapool and start trek to Tikhedhunga/Ulleri, Overnight stay at Tea House.
Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani, Overnight stay at Tea House.
Day 06: Climb up to Poonhill (early in the morning to see the Himalayan panorama and sunrise views) and trek to Tadapani Overnight stay at Tea House.
Day 07: Trek to Ghandrung (village of Gorkha warriors), Overnight stay at Tea House.
Day 08: Trek to Deurali/Pothana, Overnight stay at Tea House.
Day 09: Trek to Phedi and drive back to Pokhara, Overnight stay at Tea House.
Day 10: Exploring Pokhara valley, Overnight stay at Tea House.
Day 11: Drive/fly back to Kathmandu, Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 12: Free day in Kathmandu and in the evening seven star fare well diners at Kathmandu.
Day 13: Departure on your own destination.
